What is the PTE Test?
PTE (Pearson Test of English) an internationally recognized and worldwide accepted computer-based English language test used to assess English language proficiency.
PTE score is accepted by the colleges and universities worldwide and by the countries for immigration purposes.
PTE test, like other English tests such as IELTS and TOEFL, assesses four areas of English skills – Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.
PTE test is a computer-based test, lasts for 3 hours and the results are graded by an algorithm and not by humans.
The best part is that you get frequent test dates availability and faster results. Mostly within three to five days, sometimes you get the results the next day of the test.
PTE Test Format
PTE Academic test assesses Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing all via a computer-based test in a single three-hour test session. At Education Agent Australia we follow the standard test format in our PTE Coaching.
PTE tests are held at Pearson test centers, to take the test you will need to book a test online and choose a preferred test center. On the test day, you will attend the chosen PTE test center to take your test.Â
You will be assigned a computer to do your PTE test. You will be provided with a headset to listen to and pen and note pad to make notes during the test.
The PTE test is sectioned into three parts:
Part 1: PTE Speaking & Writing (77 – 93 minutes)

- Read aloud
- Repeat sentence
- Describe image
- Re-tell lecture
- Answer short question
- Summarize written text
- Essay (20 mins)
Part 2: PTE Reading (32 – 40 minutes)
- Reading & writing: Fill in the blanks

Part 3: PTE Listening (45 – 57 minutes)
